PRIMARY FOCUS / ROLE

Team Coordinating, Building Homes

THE WHY

Through the gift of a free home, we provide families with a safe place to live that offers shelter from extreme weather and potential threats. More importantly, it gives our pastors an opportunity to meet the needs of their communities, connect people with the church, and serve as a powerful reminder of God’s love for that family and the surrounding community. These homes are nothing short of a modern-day miracle for the families who receive them, often changing the trajectory of their lives for generations to come.

CURRENT PRAYER NEEDS

This summer is going to be hot. Prayers that everyone is safe and well hydrated. No hospital visits.
Always for the families. That they may know God and that they hold on to hope as they are waiting for their new homes.
That the college and career class I help lead would continue to gain more students and that there would be more opportunities for one on one discipleships.
We have several positions open at Casas that we need filled ASAP. Specifically a HR rep and some people in our Finance Department.
For opportunities for more ministry partners. I still need to fundraise $500 a month. More opportunities to connect with people and get them excited to be a part of the ministry I get to do.

MISSION STATEMENT / WHAT THEY DO

Casas por Cristo exists to open the door for local pastors and churches to share the love of Jesus Christ by serving. Our mission is to build and serve.

RECENT STORY OR TESTIMONY

In Acuña, I was serving an elderly couple named Maria and Belshazzar. They were incredibly kind people who lived on a ranch where they raised goats. After we finished stuccoing their new home, the team created a walking path using rounded mounds of extra stucco.  I asked Maria if she wanted to sign her name on one of the stones. She looked at me and explained that she did not know how to read or write and was unable to sign her name. So, I signed it for her.  Through the process of receiving their home, Maria and Belshazzar were connected to a nearby church. They had recently become Christians and had started attending services. In that moment, it struck me that without the opportunity to receive a home, they may never have heard the name of Jesus. Because they could not read the Bible for themselves, they needed someone to teach them about God’s Word.  Now, because they heard that a group of strangers was giving away a free home, Maria and Belshazzar have a place where they can continue learning about God. They have accepted Christ, become part of a church community, and found the hope of eternal life.
